Denim skirt Simplicity 2451 View C

Skirt front pleats

Hey wait a minute didn't she already sew this pattern??? Yes but a different view, this is View C, it has the same waist yoke and pockets, but instead of gore pieces, the front is one piece with pleats and the back has a small vent at the hem.  The fabric is a stretch denim from Joann's (leftover from the dark wash jeans), very comfy.

I added a front stay to keep the pleats from popping open, it was drafted from the original pattern.
Front stay pattern

It was cut out of a rayon faille lining fabric and popped in before the pockets.

Here's the view from the back

Nice one! A denim skirt seems like a great addition to anyone's casual wardrobe. I like your pocket bags being made out of funky quilting cotton.

I'm hoping it's as low maintenance as a pair of jeans! I always fall in love with the quilting cottons, but don't imagine the patterns I like would look good in a garment.... it makes me happy!

This one has cleaner lines for sure, but they are both comfortable.... and washable:)

Looks like such an easy-to-wear skirt. A little bit "different" than your run-of-the-mill straight denim skirts. Lovely!

It's a good pattern, I've cut the yoke out of some of the scrap from the flippy skirt and will rummage the scraps to see if I can make another one.
